In this project you have to collect information about satellite applications. The task is to prepare a poster about the orbital motion, launching and operations in applications of satellites. Satellite telecommunications using electromagnetic radio waves (antenna directions, delay time in signal transmission, network, ...). Compose the poster from text, graphic elements and images. You should cover only one specific area of satellite applications rather than having everything related to satellites explained. In the following list are some applications and topics listed which are related to satellite applications:

Producing a print product
Objective
The objective of the project is to learn the basic printing processes:
- producing text for publishing purposes
- producing graphics
- scanning pictures
- processing digital images
- assembling the elements on a page ( a poster)
- printing
Workflow
1. Prepare the contents and make skiss of the visual design.
- show the teachers latest 19.11.1997
2. Prepare the elements using the following tools
- text: Microsoft Word; save on disk
- graphics : Aldus Freehand ( in Mac) or Corel Draw ( in PC); save on disk in EPS-format
- pictures: scan in with Afga Duotone scanner, Leaf scanner or Canon or respective PC-scanners; save on disk either in TIFF or in JPEG-format.
- you can use also Internet sources to get pictures and save them in TIFF or JPEG format for later use.
3. Combine the elements
- page make up: combine the elements using Page Maker, Corel Draw or PhotoPaint
- print a black and white proof with a laser printer ;
- print 4-color picture with Canon or films for printing with a real printing machine ( 1-2 color option)
4. Expose films and plates and print ( 1- and 2- color options)
5. Make a short report of the process flow describing
- how texts were used ( fonts, sizes )
- graphic production

- image processing ( scanning resolutions, adjustements and operations made)
describe a digital image processing workflow
- page assembling prosedure
- printing process
